Jamie Roberts is a talented roofer who set up his own sole trader business a number of years ago.
He was referred to Brickbooks and Payroll by his wife as he was becoming overwhelmed with HMRC bills and demands.
Jamie’s previous accountant did not offer tax advice therefore he was unaware of what could be done and the tax reliefs available.
Solution
Brickbooks and Payroll conducted an evening initial review as the situation felt urgent. It was concluded that while Jamie was very busy and had a great turnover, he was not on top of daily bookkeeping, lacked clarity over his accounts and therefore was unprepared for HMRC bills.
With these chores taken off Jamie, he was able to focus on the actual work in front of him.
We restructured his business to make it much more tax efficient and he is now able to keep more of the money he earns.
